About SAB

The SAB, as with all parish organizations, must follow Archdiocesan policies.  By definition it is an advisory board, which develops policies..  The board also reviews and advises on the annual school budget and determines sources of funding, sets rates of tuition, and requests parish subsidies.  In collaboration with the Pastor, the board hires the principal (not the faculty and staff).  The board member act as a public relations arm of the school.

Each member of the school board is a representative of its constituency, and serves as a member of other committees as well as attending monthly board meetings.  These sub-committees range from marketing and technologies to liaisons with FSA and Athletics, just to name a few.  The term of office for school board members is three years.  The Divine Providence School Board generally meets on the third Monday of each month in the Rectory.

To be a member of Providence School Board you must be a registered parishioner of Divine Providence and possess a sincere interest in Catholic education for the children of the parish.  A complete list of qualifications, according to the written by-laws, can be obtained upon request from the school office, the rectory, or any school board member.
